This melanoma was found during a full skin examination.  Often, the mole that the patient wants to show the doctor is not the most important mole, so a full skin examination is recommended.  This mole has a light brown background, with thickening of the pigment network which has become darker in areas. Black dots can be seen, and also some pale grey scar like areas. At the inferior border, there is some radial streaming.
